Trains delayed on main line again

Train services along the main line have been delayed due to a container truck damaging the overhead rail bridge at Peliyagoda, the Department of Railways said.

The incident had occurred last night while the rail track has also sustained damage, according to the Railway Control Room.

Steps are currently being taken to repair the track and rail bridge, it said.

Train services on the main line from Colombo Fort to Rambukkana were delayed yesterday morning as well, after a train colliding with a tipper truck at Wanawasala.
