I’m sure all of us have noticed a difference in the weather lately; the excessive heat has been instrumental in causing the ever so popularized “disco ball” face we all seem to be wearing lately. The main question remains is can we really beat the heat this sunny season?
Here are a few tips and tricks you can incorporate into your routine to ensure you remain untouched by the sun (or atleast look it) this sunny season.
Moisture
It is easy to lose a lot of moisture and get dehydrated due to the sweat, it is important to still keep moisturizing regardless of how icky it might feel. Swap out your regular moisturizers for those with high SPF and are water based. This allows it to absorb into your skin faster and not lay on the surface making you look shiny. Furthermore the SPF will prevent the harmful UV rays from damaging the gentle skin on your face. Remember to massage your moisturizer into your skin thoroughly to make sure all of it is absorbed.
Ice Ice Baby
This funny trick is bound to make you chuckle but oddly enough, it really does work! Before you apply any makeup, gently rub your face with an ice cube and then pat your skin dry. The cold of the ice cube tightens the skin and closes up the pores and your makeup will go on smoother and last for longer. It acts as a natural anti perspirant and can even minimize pimples and acne.
Say no to liquids!
The last thing you want to do when you’re trying to minimize sweat and running makeup, is use more liquids. Swap out your liquid foundations for powder, and try out cream based eyeliners instead of liquid. This will help you stay matte throughout the day as the powders will prevent sweat from escaping and giving you that dewy look.
Blotting papers
At this point, these will become your best friend. These small papers are easy and portable to carry around and a single blot can minimize your shine in seconds! If you lack access to blotting sheets you can try rice paper as well. This is even better for the skin and minimizes your pores.
Ease the grease
Greasy hair is admittedly a large issue when it comes to warmer climates. Wanna rid your hair of that flat oily look? Try some dry shampoo. This is useful in soaking up the oils in your hair due its powder qualities. if access to this is difficult opt for baby powder, however use this with ease as it could make your hair look white which is obviously the unintended look.
6. Use a Primer
The silky formula feels lightweight on and only adds seconds to your routine. It gives your foundation, bronzer, and blush something to hold on to, making it stay longer. You get to reapply less frequently. It also functions as effective oil control preventing unnecessary shinyness.
