JVP provincial councilor and Convener of the Voice Against Corruption Wasantha Samarasinghe said legal action should be taken against the Minister appointed the portfolio of Power and Renewable Energy during the 100-day government.
Samarasinghe alleged that financial irregularity amounting to Rs. 1,803 million had taken place in 2015, while purchasing coal for the Norochcholai power plant.
He made these allegations while lodging a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Committee Secretariat, on behalf of the Voice Against Corruption, this afternoon.
“The loss suffered by the country and the ministry should be borne by the persons responsible for this corruption,” Samarasinghe said.
It was the Voice Against Corruption that made a complaint against MP Namal Rajapaksa, alleging he had misappropriated Rs. 70 million given by the Krrish Group, resulting in his arrest
